Very basic question but is there a particular rationale or explanation as to why the Portland Federal Courthouse is a target?
Presumably it's the most prominent piece of federal property and they discovered (through trial and error?) that it pissed off the feds without bothering the locals. Nobody really *likes* the federal US government, that's been a big part of how it functions as a neutral arbiter.

Previously it was rarely a vulnerability - SCOTUS/congress have carved out a middle path that people on both sides of a given issue can live with. But there is a bright line now that amounts to "we have not captured your power yet" and that applies to the feds but not local auth.
