The sub has always had a complicated relationship with Aimee in particular. At this point there's been a clear parting of ways between the major social power centers of both quarters.

I don't want to psychologize too much. I can't speak to anyone's motivation. Basically when I stopped paying attention however many months ago there were three major influences on the culture: Crab, Gucci, and a large clique of users from discord.

Gucci is gucci, he's oppositional-defiant and not terribly coherent politically. The clique is driven by aesthetics and Aimee just isn't stylish. Crab shared a political goal until the end of Bernie 2020 but he decided to stick with DSA and the left more broadly.

Because the founding principal of SP was 'saving' the left or maintaining the credibility of the left as a workers' movement, it immediately diverges if you decide that isn't what the left is at all.
