Not in it, voted 1 (I never made enough noise to be in any of these)

its just funny to think about how LF was just "the dirtbag left" ten years before that was even a thing, and now every single poster (with the exception of me and maybe one other guy) is a clock-punching, card-carrying wokester. so much for old times, lol

Really goes to show what about five or six well-placed wreckers can do. The Maoist pseudoconsensus that preceded it was fragile anyway but nobody was interested in figuring a way out of it

the "maoism" of LF was just the natural precursor stage to liberal wokeness, really. "class politics" totally disconnected from politics, or class, or anything, just a bunch of depressed failsons and scam artists trying to one-up each other.

It shouldn't have to be, though - it could just as easily be an endpoint to wokeness (as it kinda has been with 1619), you just have to look at how demobilizing it is even in theory and figure there has to be a way to cut the knot. That should have been the project imo

Turns out everyone who wasn't working on a PhD was working on building parasocial bonds, though. Oops!

well, yeah. everyone WAS working on a PhD, lol. And pretending like that shit doesnt matter to your politics. It couldn't last, and it didn't.

like ultimately the reasons i stuck to the putative "goal" of LF - politics - isnt because of some superior moral fibre or anything, its because im the literal definition of an idiot - someone who didn't get the hidden, REAL meaning behind the message.

someone like mccaine, who moved on from talking about Revolution to just wanting to write marxist D&D splatbooks after dropping out of academia, is ultimately a much more well-adjusted human being than me. its foolish to deny that.

I might just be a messy bitch who lives for drama. No time to gangstalk a lulzcow, that's not sporting, you gotta go where there's stakes on either side.
