I'm not the biggest fan of masto but at some point all the non-NPCs will have to warehouse themselves there.

The biggest problem is that the main instance is run more or less exactly like Twitter. The second biggest problem is that the platform is empty but that can change

Yeah fair, you basically have to set up a private hellthread. You also can't turn off RTs. Maybe this stuff can be patched in somehow?

It's very easy to set up a Twitter clone. Doesn't necessarily have to be Mastodon. But getting people to move over, or even just use the new service in addition to the old one, is a task.
