Population stagnation in particular and the waning interest of American jews, the largest and most powerful segment of the diaspora, plus the increasing effectiveness of Hamas as a fighting force within Gaza and increased scrutiny on social media

The Israelis act tough but Zionism as a project will be have to adjust its expectations sooner or later. "Nile to Euphrates" is not plausible policy, they won't even make it to the Jordan river without some sort of reconciliation

Nor will Egypt and Jordan ever, ever take Gaza and the WB back. Those are Israel now. How that gets formalized is the open question

I tend to think of Zionism as the official Israeli state ideology whatever that may be, especially considering its biggest proponents (AIPAC in particular but also eg Birthright) are state-directed. The substantive content is probably as subject to interpretation as US patriotism
