The standard answer to someone saying they feel unsafe because of something you said that isn't an explicit threat of violence, should be "fuck you bitch". That way it might be that they feel so unsafe they retreat from public discourse until they fix their deep personal issues.

I think it's only sinister if you hold a wrong epistemological theory. Otherwise the sinisterness of it gets all translated to mistakes in knowledge of facts, that these people hold as factual truths, and we simply don't know what these mistakes are exactly.
There's your mistake. These people do not believe things. They have an aesthetic sense that is malleable along certain lines and that is it. Any question they can't answer is reduced to "read the room," "not a good look," "this ain't it chief," read: TACKY

Yeah, and they follow those heristics because they believe in sociological, epistemplogical, historical, etc, theories, which are themselves wrong about facts - historical facts, facts about how humans think and create knowledge, facts about the physical world, etc etc

Also, the idea that "aesthetic sense" can be divorced from beliefs of how the physical world works, of how you and others around you come to conclusions and understandings, and all the things which are factual whether we know them or not, and aren't all connected, is fool's gold
