That's what's odd about this. The 'hate speech' policy is very much in line with r/CTH's politics. However, CTH kept getting in trouble for inadequate moderation, which is probably more what that ban is about (mods ignoring 'death threats' that admins have to clean up)

Not sure on cumtown but CTH was pretty consistently bad about brigading other places that were insufficently socialist. Pictures of cute K9 puppies, landlord forums, etc.
