Rising's merger of two distinct strands of Very Online politics -- celebrating the primary-ing of Establishment Dems by AOC-aligned progressives, while also arguing that Obamagate is real in the same episode -- is fascinating https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpN26dIG4b4 … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_L8rgDIY3U …

One is more dangerous than the other. And has an easier path to institutional power. The new right because of demographics, geography, the electoral college, and their superior ability to reach the poor and working-class can potentially undermine the status quo within the GOP.

Whereas woke lefties are mostly interested in performative gestures, consistently lose to the status quo outside of the coasts, don't have the patience or strategy skills to infiltrate institutions, and have trouble gaining influence with the poor and working class.

Time to update these priors, especially this: "don't have the patience or strategy skills to infiltrate institutions"

Woke folks white guilting coastal PMC institutions into making piecemeal changes is not significant, the moderate left still dominates policy, strategy, and perspectives. Whereas, the new right is effectively undermining the econ-libertarian/neo-conservative coalition.

This is only a problem for the woke left if you think they have a policy platform meaningfully separate from the 'moderates'
