I think that when the iconoclasm started, if a public figure said “they’ll be coming for ‘racist’ white paintings of Jesus next” people would’ve brandished it a slippery slope type fear-mongering. And now a public figure has advocated for that.

You think a senator saying churches shouldn't be defaced is more divisive, in the United States, than major public figure and political fundraiser saying they should be. I'm not sure we're from the same planet.
