I don't know how else to characterize the belief that three black men from New Orleans would carry out a hit for the Dallas Police Department in exchange for a "bribe" and fail to implicate police after being shot, arrested and charged with capital murder.

I don’t see why possibly defendIng himself with a gun during a hit attempt by these other people would suddenly prove that they weren’t set up by the cops to do it.

For one thing, why was he armed in the first place? Why did he have enough weed to keep the apartment building stoned for five years? If it was planted, how did the cops prevent anyone from seeing them plant it? Why haven't the men implicated the cops? How do I prove a negative?

So by the same token the plan was to call him out to his parking lot unexpectedly in the middle of the night in order to assassinate him, and this plan basically worked except they weren't anticipating he might suspect their motives.

You would think this would be the kind of eventuality a group of three assassins might plan for.

Or maybe they were just there to exchange contraband for money. These things are equally plausible. Who can say?
