people are misspeaking and not reading beyond headlines, there are record increases in *hospitalizations* right now that would require a longer lead time for symptoms to worsen. the increase in *critical* cases is attributable to pre-protest reopenings

Oh absolutely. Texas isn't spiking in hospitalizations because of Occupy Austin, and I'm betting the overall effect will be much smaller than the high end of the projections.

It turns out one mask of any kind per person reduces transmission to effectively zero in a salon setting (unintentional experiment with a CoV+ stylist), and being outdoors reduces transmission further. That said, shouting probably releases aerosols.
