When is the next dark age starting?
I don't see society collapsing any time soon but we've been in a rut since at least 1968 with no credible opposition to the status quo. So if you're looking for a world-ending crisis, no dice, but there's also little chance of a movement to bring humanity under our own control.

The dark ages weren't world-ending, but it was a shift in social structure and the relations (and modes) of production.
