I don't understand the extraordinary effort that goes into explicating what can only be called the "subliminal messaging" of mainstream journalism, i.e. close-reading for biased language. It is not some earth-shattering revelation to discover the NYT reflects ideological bias.
It's the only way I can convince myself the US wants to invade China and if I don't do that then I have to think about things that are actually happening.
