requiring more data on viral ADE (is a second infection worse?), we're collectively running an experiment where we feed the massively infectious pathogen a few million more hosts, more incubators for the needed shifts. To my knowledge they've found one functional mutation so far, ie a single changed protein, and it's too early to know if that has any effect. I'd be more worried about other CoVs popping up. What if MERS broke out in Saudi Arabia right now?
