Consider dialing back the tribal loyalty to figure out what you actually care about and believe, and why.
For example if your 'leftism' holds that labor in your country is overpriced, you will have a bad time in elections for the foreseeable future.

I mention this because it's the fundamental point of agreement between American liberals and leftists (ie, broadly, "the left") that US labor is spoiled and requires discipline. You can stage a coup with that but it won't win an election, much less a revolution.
