I still think wildlife market is a more likely explanation but you cannot readily dismiss the presence of a virus lab doing coronavirus research in the epicenter of the outbreak. You wouldn't exempt the CDC from suspicion if there was a smallpox epidemic in Atlanta.

I don't know anything about viruses, but is 2 weeks of being asymptomatic but infectious something to be expected? If I was engineering a virus as a bioweapon that's the first thing I'd do

Well, the FIRST thing I'd do was make sure it wasn't likely to kill a high percentage of people, I wouldn't want The Stand on my hands. But it would be high on the agenda

Unlikely. We haven't seen uncontrolled outbreaks of c19 fizzle only to recur and nobody has a sample from before December of 2019. Does everyone just toss their everything-negative viral pneumonia swabs after a month?
