So you want the state to intervene to impose a specific family structure, but if that leads to issues those should be solved by anarchic community justice? And we should increase the rates of STD:s and teenage pregnancy, but also have universal healthcare?

He's very clearly saying that when it comes to the family, if the state is going to impose values on people they should be ones handed down to us from our ancestors and not cooked up in Berkeley circa 1966 But we'd settle for no one imposing at all, because we'd win that way too

There's no inherent reason why the values of Berkeley 1966 are superior to those of say Paris 1866. I could buy an argument about ancient traditions, but this is all so recent. Not to mention that all these idealized family models only ever applied to a sliver of society.
