      It's crazy to watch people make the argument that the models were wrong and the experts overreacted when the bulk of the evidence we've gotten over the past few weeks suggests the virus might be *more* deadly and *more* transmissable than we thought.

      I can't tell you if things are going better or worse than I'd expect because I don't know what the path out of lockdown is. The virus is roughly the same: calamitous if not controlled, but controllable.

      What I CAN tell you is that the headline on this disease in big bold letters in late January was "SUBSTANTIAL SPREAD THROUGH ASYMPTOMATIC CARRIERS." That the CDC pretends to have recently noticed this is an insult to the intelligence of the American people, except journalists.

      Journos have made few inquiries into why the CDC is making false statements to the public, and why they have done so to disastrous effect for all of 2020. That work has been left to a handful of MAGA republicans and silicon valley blowjob artists. Wouldn't have been my call.

      What are they saying? CDC is ultimately subordinated to Trump, so I don't think these guys have any real bones to pick with them.

      Scott Adams took it seriously early, as did @CityBureaucrat and his groyper buddies. It filtered through to Twitter from 4chan initially which caused every liberal on here to reflexively ignore it.
