The classified information they got was probably just the capacity of the US health care system, which is still a secret. All info on the virus has been freely available to the public since January.

Yep. It’s why I have hand sanitizer and most people don’t. Still wish I hadn’t listened to my retirement planner though.

On the 22nd Trump replied when asked “Are there worries about a pandemic at this point?” “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine." People were not being told on Jan24th

You and i know not to listen to him but people expect their leaders to inform them. If these senators knew it was going to get so bad they dumped their stocks whilst Trump was telling everyone it was under control that’s pretty despicable isn’t it?

Oh, absolutely. The ethical standard should have been immediate disclosure of all non-classified information from the meeting, such as mortality projections and that the disease is airborne and spread is driven by asymptomatic carriers (something the CDC still won't admit)
