There was a brief period where you could tell this pandemic was an opportunity to press the same tired issues as solutions ("we need M4A" - oops, Italy has it and it didn't help)

The issue is that people right now are going to avoid getting tested because they can't afford to go to the doctor. It can cost thousands of dollars to get treatment. We have to pass a law to cover even the tests and it's still not done. M4A this wouldn't be a problem

The public health failures here are due in part to a dangerous and foolhardy decision by the administration to suppress testing and in part due to lack of domestic manufacturing. These things were obvious weeks ago but the campaign decided to use the pandemic as a wedge instead
