I don't buy it. By this metric we should be seeing exponential growth in every city in China. That same exponential growth completely demolished party control over Wuhan for a couple weeks. Plus, treatment and outcomes improve as docs gain experience and the first wave recedes.
What *is* true is that curve-flattening is ultimately going to save far fewer lives than line-raising which I suspect may kick into gear including design of 3d modeled parts, which happened in Italy and can happen anywhere.
