It makes no sense that masks don't work. They've stepped the standard down to surgical mask for hospitals because realistically you do not have that many N95s. You think they wouldn't wrap a t shirt around their face before going in bareback?

3 hours was the max time studied, if I’m reading this right? It’s not surprising to me they’re still effective at the 3 hour mark, it’s more the full work day over which time I suspect they’d cease working. Still, interesting.
