      Word to the wise: instead of building out surgical mask production, western governments - not only the US - have decided to tamp down demand by claiming that masks don't work and should be saved for medical personnel. This is a lie. Make your own.

      Wrong. They protect against spread through droplets. Surgical masks are cheap to make so they're usually the best option for the public, but we don't have any.
