This an update on #PublicHealth lab status for #COVID19 across the US as of 10 am 3/9/20: there are 78 state and local public health labs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia have successfully verified and are currently using COVID-19 diagnostic tests. @APHL

The state of Nevada has a great pdf on their public health website to guide testing procedures. http://dpbh.nv.gov/uploadedFiles/dpbhnvgov/content/Programs/OPHIE/dta/Hot_Topics/NNVInfographic.pdf … Hopefully this can be a model for other states.

This is really nicely explained. I wish there was something similar available for NJ NY. What does it mean 'your healthcare provider'? Primary Care Provider? We are new here and don't have one :(

If your not sick & haven’t traveled or been in contact with someone who fits that narrative why would you need to be tested? I’m not being snarky but I want to understand why ppl think they need testing if they’re not sick

1) it's spreading in the community in New York and Washington, which might as well be every city in the country 2) reports from approximately everywhere of doctors not getting tests for patients who *are* sick. Korea is burning through hundreds of thousands of tests to track it.
