I bought a couple of video games repeating what surely will be the pattern of buying video games, playing them for 10 mins and deciding I do not like video games and then uninstalling it.

It's a vicious cycle. I think the trick to breaking out is realizing whatever old games or niche genres you actually enjoy instead of letting people hype you up into playing something that will bore you.
Yeah, whenever I've done this it's been with some superhype full-price release in a genre I don't really like. Witcher 3 comes to mind - great game I'm sure, but I just don't care about prestige open world storygames
