I didn't say these are Marx's claims; my point was that a good class analysis would not lead someone to see Bloomberg's surge as evidence that "class has primacy" in all cases.

The claim here is that black support for Bloomberg (in early polls of registered voters) disproves the reality of race as a political motivator; it seems implictly to rest on the notion that belief in such motivations is at odds with a material analysis of class relations.
