All the young Film Twitterers trying to make their mark with, "Actually, Joker is BAD" are adorable. I want to pinch their little cheeks and give them a nickel for the Saturday matinee.

It might get Best Picture and considering how we've seen the face paint crop up at protests it's hard to say the film hasn't earned the honor

It's a pretty good but flawed movie! It's also a pretty good but flawed movie that managed to tap into something and resonated with millions of people. For a certain kind of film nerd with a chip on their shoulder, that state of affairs is unacceptable.
