It's more that I think if you push, the last guy standing who's interested in actually arguing will be arguing something like this. Anarchists have shallow aesthetic worldviews and will dismiss you as the wrong kind of person, MTWs will stake out the way in which you're the enemy

The trick is to make sure the other guy is always above the fairness line and argue for bringing him down to the line. Smartphones, cars, fridges, and identity markers are all leverage in making sure nobody who disagrees with you is a real prole

I don’t follow what you’re pointing to in this last one. Sounds like indie rock. Is there a YouTube tutorial?

You know how wokeness is just Nietzschean slave morality, with a competition on who gets to be the most oppressed? And 1619 projects the reinverted logic onto the nation state as a whole? Imagine a world in which that applies rigorously to literally everything

Unions? White. Populism? White. Iraq 2? Waged on behalf of white workers. China? Not white! Very good!

In this narrative 1968 marks the point at which the bribe coffers ran out and whites had to start experiencing reality in the same way as the rest of the world.

Yes, I know all of those wild imaginings. While it is interesting and non-accidental that some of these themes get transfered into woke catechisms, decolonization brainstorms, etc., the pre-t980 (
) revolutionary conditions are no more.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
The SDS and other New Left affiliated radicals became a professoriate and tempered their feeling for a historical material moment into a toothless Gramscian tactic.

Of course there ARE still holdouts and offshoots and most of the anti-imperialist left is shaped by those currents... ANSWER, Code Pink, Grayzone, etc.

Yeah, that was the milieu I came up under with the online left in the wake of Iraq. It's my Kant or Ricardo

Theoretically it creates a huge problem of political action, and the solution is typically to defer the problem; ie if Matt C really believed the things he said he would *never* support Bernie, another in a long line of (((white))) men offering blood gibz to the eternal Pepe

Yes. It is a learn-ed doctrine utterly divorced from the already hopelessly separated and terribly unhappy New Left family. When I hear this stuff, I consider it cultural cred and little more. It’s mood music. HOPE as riddled as Obsma himself with moldy New Left anecdotes.
