      all that needs to be said is that it's a completely arbitrary category that was concocted to form political coalitions even acknowledging it as something real is a mistake if you are trying to do class politics, because this term only exists to stop you from doing it

      The point is that it's pretty clear from the use of the term who it applies to. If you think "those of predominately non-European origin" isn't much of an identity nor a viable political coalition (and I agree), just say that. Aimee played a dumb game and her prize is this debate

      It isn't pretty clear, though. "Predominately non-European" hispanics move to the United States and identify themselves as white. It's not clear whether or not the average Argentinian or Armenian is a "a person of colour" or not. Even conceding the concept is taking an L
