1/ I am so confused by even the basic logic underpinning the Soleimani killing. There was an imminent attack that... couldn't be carried out without the man himself? Plenty of reasons to think they're lying anyway, but on its face kinda nonsensical.
It seemed pretty clear in the immediate aftermath that it was retaliation for the militia attack on the US embassy in Baghdad. Guessing they realized after the fact that they didn't have concrete evidence linking Soleimani to that.
