The Right sees itself as an agent of social discipline arrayed against the existing order but the discipline to be imposed is contingent and open to contestation (Catholic, Wahhabi, agrarian, planter, Volk). That leads to drama, but at least everyone understands there's conflict.
The left not only can't abide that kind of debate, it can't even acknowledge its presence. The mission is given in advance, disagreement is only visible if it can be framed as a matter of tactics
