      So this beloved Iranian general, I'm not going to pretend I had ever heard about him, but it sounds like he "operated out of" Iraq. Is that a normal thing for a general to be doing? Or was he doing this essentially at the sufferance of everyone else who wants a piece of the pie?

      Bolton, despite being a war hawk, was a diplomat and not a soldier. If Iran had killed Petraeus in Iraq there would have been massive grumbling and a sense that it was more or less fair play - what exactly was he doing there
