is there a specific name for the feature where a time field in a form parses basically any entry, versus the ones where you specifically have to type "08:00" with the leading zero
A web form I use often has compulsory overtype for the date box so if you put in a wrong digit you have to start over

i just can't believe it's not some kind of standard feature you can put in these days. like the timecard program i use lets you type "1500" "15:00" "3:00 PM" "3pm" or "3p" and accepts all of those
