      well, what about the leftists who appreciate the western canon but take issue with some of the edgy stunting, chafe at blanket statements like "women are ____," etc? My friend @Maarblek just said it well, "aesthetics are a bitch" lol. But I wonder if it's more than aesthetics

      Art that aligns with all your poltiical and normative commitments is propaganda. It's a category error to want or need to agree with the artist on a moral level.

      Oh! I get this.. maybe an artist doesn't need a manifesto for the work to have the same imprint. But is an artist's primary job to manage how their work is received? Making sure gropers and redpills don't glom on? I'm wary of guilt by association but yknow, fielding critiques
