It's kind of crazy how Influential 2004-2012 SA is to the Online Discourse & how many successful things can be traced back to it given how things ended up there.
It was the biggest place you could build Cred prior to YouTube, since 4chan was anonymized and everywhere else disallowed the kind of flamewars that you really need to build prestige
