These people are clearly 'sick' either way, and they keep finding their way into cults whether or not there's a cross on the door. Mainline evangelicism and liberal catholicism are better cults to be in than Social Justice because they've developed social guardrails.
Note that I don't think this is actually how this works - religion doesn't spread through evangelism but by convenience to the greater social order, ie, the fix is in, even if I were a devotee of some sect I wouldn't be able to convert society.
