The organization I'm imagining here is nothing like the DSA now, so it's hard to say. Ideally you could use it to source candidates for office and set up a coalition for electoral reform that would let you set up a relevant party.

Probably not by "organizing" considering these guys had about a thousand times more pre-existing organizational resources and institutions and were committed to expansion of dual power at the expense of engagement with the state.

Labor was in a better position. They had more people and more of the economy was unionized. NAFTA was just about to go into effect and workers were pissed. Their 30 year losing streak nonetheless lasted another 25.
