McElwee, like Nate Silver before him, is committed to putting cart before the horse. Nate (neolib 1.0 technocracy) claimed to be "politically neutral", whereas McElwee embraces being "progressive" (neolib 2.0 anarcho-liberalism). Both are committed to a *denial of the poltical*.

They're both doing the same thing: cheap reiteration of data as though empiricism is a-political. Cherry pick data post hoc, to justify liberal status quo that they cannot understand conceptually, nor examine critically. It's just data. No political theory. No principles.
