Is white identity politics a real thing? Most of Trump’s support is based on trade deals and material concerns about open borders. Often it seems like “white identity politics” is just the anti-idpol left coming up with something right-wing to be against.
Historically it's a real thing but it's been on the decline probably continuously since 67. Right after Trump's election it wasn't exactly clear what had boosted him so everyone including the small group of genuine RW identity ideologues overestimated their influence

That said the longer the left wing race scientists hold sway the better the right wing's version of race science starts to look. Can't ignore jews and Asians indefinitely
