I wonder when it became "common sense" that "core" gamers aren't into racing games. I feel like nobody thought this when I was a kid but it now seems like it's just taken as a given.
The racing games I like really are mostly games that remind me of the sensory overload and momentum that sells the sonic games. Kart racers, trackmania and NFS more than the sim games

I'm not that picky. I love arcade stuff like Initial D, Burnout, or Dangerous Driving (this is worth checking out if you haven't; it's basically a proper spiritual successor to Burnout 3), but I love sim racing like Forza and Dirt Rally too.
