I wonder when it became "common sense" that "core" gamers aren't into racing games. I feel like nobody thought this when I was a kid but it now seems like it's just taken as a given.

They're supposedly not doing a new Sonic game till like 2021 so I gotta fill in the gaps somehow.
They should lean into every sonic game being the flagship of a doomed new IP. Like how the Sonic Twitter account hired the most Brand Manager motherfuckers alive to make tails say all your base and can haz cheeseburger pseudo ironically

The racing games I like really are mostly games that remind me of the sensory overload and momentum that sells the sonic games. Kart racers, trackmania and NFS more than the sim games
