Even if they're right, it's still possible that men are having sex with men as a substitute. But that's quite possibly the least woke thing you can imagine saying so it'll never occur to them, even though no link in the logical chain is actually objectionable.

imo not having sex is feeding a phenomenon of identifying as gay/queer/whatever, "asexual" being the most obvious and explicit form, but this is a fringe effect. the main thing is just break down of normal social life, with sex being one facet of the picture.
