Not really, no. Again, I'm interested in them primarily as escapist entertainment (before you flip this, do you really want to escape to MK island or the Tenenbaum house?) but I understand Peter Parker's life a lot better than Mr. Fox's weird loveless family.
Precisely because I'm sick of seeing the low-art high-art dickwaving contest where grown men who have degrees pick out random teenagers and Midwest customer service reps to feel superior to. They're not the ones in charge of output.

Every direct quote i've seen was an acknowledgement that people aren't in charge of the content, they consume what is made available and there are increasingly few alternatives to the mega franchise model when all entertainment reporting is what was the box office gross.
