      the most salient point from the zizek chapo interview was the call for the left to rediscover its moral majority but that would entail a rejection of most of its new-found objectives so it will fall on deaf ears

      It is an interesting contradiction, though - he's specifically advocating that leftists take up not the substantive cause of the moral majority but the casual chauvinism and vulgarity that accompany it, decoupling this from austerity. Imo.
