Good question, Glenn. It's because 1) identity politics is only useful as a way to stymie class analysis and 2) the privilege/oppression status of ethnicities that do better than "white" "gentiles" is not analyzed within this framework because it returns a catastrophic result.

In fact, this sort of analysis has every possibility of turning well-meaning and honest adherents against minorities that are successful within capitalism. The only backstop is the conscience of the adherent.
