The greatest irony today is that at a time when the left is busy purging every non-submissive marxian socialist, more and more figures on the (alt) right are straight up reading Marx and going "hey this is actually not half bad!". It's hilarious.

We spend so much time debating whether anti-capitalism is structurally anti-semitic that we never stop to consider whether anti-semitism, from a purely descriptive standpoint, is structurally anti-capitalist.

I think the fact that some young people on the right are reading Marx and thinking that his thoughts on alienation and class struggle are pretty rad is all the proof we need that Marxism is, in fact, just an excuse to say slurs.

They know their own shit is tedious and spurious and thus impossibly fragile and they assume everyone else is doing the same thing they are. They don't get the idea of something being true independent of or prior to the assertion of a basically arbitrary narrative.

The measure of truth for them is taste. Racism and sexism are a bad look, listening to cum town is tacky. Makes you harder to associate with. Especially among the demo of writers who inexplicably make rent in NYC.
