Well it's not even wrong. Like ontologically he's saying their identity and class couldn't be up for grabs if it didn't exist. Well okay it didn't fit neatly into worker/owner binary, and he didn't think pmc objective class in itself, so then what, these ppl don't exist?

It's probably imprecise to label intellectual laborers (legitimacy workers?) as a 'class' for the purposes of showing where their interests lie. In their capacity as guardians of the ideological status quo they're workers who are unable to clock out.
