This type of story fucks me up. What the hell are we doing? We alienate kids so much that they ask an artificial intelligence box "how to be human" and then throw them in jail for not mastering it first go? We make young women so paranoid that a basic interaction is traumatising?

This is what the logic of witch hunting brings. You never catch witches, just sad s.o.b's who haven't mastered social interaction. You do heighten collective paranoia though —the bar for "offending" behaviour is then lowered precipitously & witches now lurking around every corner

So now we have a situation where every boy has an inner rapist just waiting to emerge if he makes a clumsy pass at a girl, we live in a 'rape culture' after all. This discourse makes boys more paranoid, alienated & alone, and girls more meek & traumatised by male interaction
