I mean, generally that’s not true, but progressive language and movements can certainly be coopted into regressive causes, especially as they move into the mainstream.
I don't think wokeness isn't progressive in the first place. It's a resort to mob rule and punitive logic in the face of (genuinely) waning institutional legitimacy. Its purpose is to put individuals in the state of exception, as far as possible from any lever of appeal.

Pointing out that we now have millions of people living in the state of exception only contradicts it if you can show they don't "belong" there due to a mistake in their *case,* not a mistake in the overall procedure
