The reigning moral ideology of the age is hedonism and I'm still working to come up with the perfect question to determine if someone is starting to step outside it. Currently it's "Is it possible for something to be right for you if it diminishes your pleasure?"
Two sides of the same coin. Hedonism is underpinned by continuously shoveling corpses into the state of exception which, while satisfying in some sense, can never end. Once all the baddies are unpersoned, there's nothing left to legitimate the hedonism by threat to the helpless.
